Extra height

Whether it’s for getting the boat, campervan or machinery inside. We can help! We make most our our Shedhouses 3.5m high to the eave which allows for a 3m x 3m roller door, perfect for getting that new boat in. If you’re after a mezzanine in you shed, We can do that too! 5m to the eave is typically the height we use for our two storey builds.

Additional Bays

We’re also able to add extra bays if need be as well as being able to customise the size of each of your bays. Allowing you to have the shed you want.

Do I need a building consent for a habitable shed house?
Yes. Any shed intended for living, sleeping or long-term use requires building consent in New Zealand. We supply all necessary structural plans and will help you through the process, or work with your draughtsperson or builder.

Can I customise the floor plan and layout?
Absolutely. All our habitable sheds are fully customisable — you choose the size, number of rooms, roofline, windows, joinery, cladding colours and more.

Do you offer both kitset and full build options?
Yes. We offer kitset habitable sheds NZ-wide, and a full build service across Greater Waikato and nearby regions. Some clients choose to manage the internal fit-out themselves; others want a complete turnkey build — we can support either path.

What’s the difference between a habitable shed house and a barndominium?
Barndominium is a popular term for a home-style shed with barn aesthetics — often featuring open plans, mezzanines or high gables. A habitable shed is a broader term for any shed used for accommodation. We build both.
